Reliving the Memory

We did it!!!!!!! A whole year!!!! And check this out, I even got Derrald doing a little arts and crafts!! We made each other Happy Anniversary cards.

Things are still just as crazy, just as hectic, just as changing as they were this time last year, but this year our visit to the Hillsborough jailhouse, retracing our steps of that magical day, included a camera and therefore, I am going to take you all through the journey of "When Hayley and Derrald got Married in a Jailhouse 2010 - Reliving the Memory 2011"

It's a wild ride folks, so buckle up. Click it or ticket people.

When I think of Hillsborough and the day we got married, I think of this building:

But we were actually married in this one:

In case you were wondering, we left our firearms at home.

We risked the chances of having our camera stolen and asked a couple of randoms to take a picture of both of us. Totally worth it.

If you remember, we plucked a couple witnesses off the street. Derrald's choice, a crack addicted lady with a boyfriend who had been hauled off in an ambulance earlier that very day, was found (appropriately on a street corner) here:

Hayley's choice, the lovely Mexican lady who was getting some business taken care of in the courthouse and actually RAN to get it done so she could join us in matrimony, was found here:

The papers were signed in the room behind me - where that man may or may not be in trouble with the law.

Did I mention in my original telling that as a "you just got married" treat all I wanted was to buy some delicious carrot juice from this nice, hippy super market:

Yeah. It went something like this:

HAYLEY:"Please can I have this delicious beverage that is not only sweet and yummy tasting but also good for me and healthy and will make me live longer in the years of our marriage?"

DERRALD: "SEVEN DOLLAR CARROT JUICE?!?!?!?!"

DERRALD: "How dare you suggest we buy carrot juice from anywhere but Costco where it is a steal at $7 for two enormous bottles instead of this one measly one! But if you want to bankrupt the family, by all means, go ahead...(*prays: don't do it)

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a photo of the single tear that escaped mine eye. What a meanie. This time we purchased two delicious cupcakes!! Not as healthy but totally more fun.

Last year we went to a sushi place to eat. It was delicious. Sushi is our FAVORITE. This year, we thought we'd try the local Hillsborough fair and the only place we found was this place. The Saratoga Grill. D and I were the ONLY patrons under the age of 55.

We ordered what we thought would be a nice light dinner, fish and salads. They came swimming in pools of butter/oil/grease. It was terrifying. But we suffered through (and later wished we hadn't) and had a good giggle about always hilarious Hillsborough experiences.

 Happy Anniversary to us!
