The Wedding Website

I am not great at working the world of the online web. I did, however, manage to get this wedding website up and running. Plenty of juicy details to be found. Sign the guest book, look at your calendars and hopefully, see you in June!!

Nesting!

That's us by our old house.

We have moved!!

So. Our first month together was spent in an apartment Derrald had chosen. The address, "112 NC 54 Bypass", pretty much explains the tone of the place, and even though we had already decided that we would move into a place we had chosen together when his lease ran out at the end of April, one day I found myself rummaging through boxes and reordering things that didn't really need to be reordered (and would only be moved in a month!).

Poor Derrald was somewhat exasperated at the need I had for moving the toilet paper onto the second shelf (when it was perfectly fine on the third) and needing the canned mandarines to be next to the canned pineapple NOT the canned tuna fish. I mean seriously, what was my problem? Anyone who knows Derrald or myself knows that we both hate to be told what to do but love to tell others what to do. We boss each other around. In fact, it's rather comical now I think about it. So, there was some debate regarding our product placement.

The point of this now dragging story, is that one day Derrald came home and with an enormous grin on his face exclaimed "NESTING!! You're nesting". I had never heard of anything more ridiculous in my life and his need for a celebration did not rub off on me. I am not a bird nor am I collecting twigs - both things I would associate with the word "nesting". Still, he was practically dancing.

According to wikipedia, "nesting instinct" means the following:

In human females, the nesting instinct often occurs around the fifth month of pregnancy, but can occur as late as the eighth, or not at all. It may be strongest just before the onset of labor.

It is commonly characterized by a strong urge to clean and organize one's home, and is one reason why couples who are expecting a baby often reorganize, arrange, and clean the house and surroundings. This behavior is colloquially known as "straightening out", "clearing the road", or "clearing the coast", or "building a door".

I assure you, I am not, nor was I ever in my "fifth month of pregnancy". Still, I was definitely experiencing a "strong urge to clean and organize one's home". Fair enough. He's dancing. We'll say I was nesting.

The problem is, now that we have moved, I am completely over my nesting. We are surrounded by boxes. Nothing is in order. Our beautiful apartment is cluttered and disorganized. It's chaos!

Oh, nesting. Where are your motivational powers now?

Our new address: "300 Robbins Street" - please come visit us!!

We owe a huge thank you to everyone who came and helped us - you made the day so much easier than it could have been! Plus, we got to meet the newest member of our family, our
little nephew Jay Lusvardi (Ryan, a blog update asap!) and spend time with our favorite Lusvardi family.
